Anatomy Module

The two-day anatomy module acts as a preparation for the STOTT PILATES teacher training, to refresh your knowledge and/or to prepare for your exam.

During the two-day module you will gain insight into:

• The planes of movement, so that you can better understand the exercises.
• The function of the different muscles, how do they work during the Pilates exercises?
• How and why of the form and function of joints.

• Knowledge of the attachments and origin, how does that determine the function?

• Recognizing bones and their position in the human body, so you understand posture analysis during training with more ease.
• Cooperation of muscles and muscle chains: agonists/antagonists, opposing forces and synergysts.
• Names of muscles and how to learn them.

What do you need?
During the course we ask you to wear a top under your clothing, so that we can indicate, feel and see the bones well on the 'body'.

You will receive a hand out at the start of the course and bring an open mind and a pen.

The teacher:
Anouk is an experienced Pilates and Yoga teacher.
She worked as a physiotherapist and manual therapist for more than 20 years. "For many years I have enjoyed giving lessons in anatomy to novice and experienced teachers. Anatomy seems very dry and complicated, so it's all the more fun to convey the basics as vividly and simply as possible. It's nice to see that deepening anatomical knowledge can permanently change the view of exercises and teaching. ”
